Becoming a Member

The Iowa Sporting Spaniel Club is looking for energetic people that have an interest in promoting the flushing Spaniel breeds as a field and hunting dog.

Member benefits include:

  • Access to training grounds.
  • Birds at a reasonable price.
  • Our current club members, who have years of training experience and can help to you develop a training regiment for your spaniel.

Starting in March through September, the Club trains twice a month in various locations in Central Iowa.

Membership open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes and Bylaws of this club.

As part of the promoting the sport to Iowa’s youth we offer a Junior Membership that is open to all persons age 10-17.

Each applicant for membership shall apply on a form as approved by the Board of Directors. Although membership is to be unrestricted as to residence, the club’s primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders and exhibitors that reside in the state of Iowa.

Membership Types

  • Regular Individual Membership – is open to all persons 18 years of age and older and enjoys all Club privileges including the right to vote and to hold office.
  • Regular Family Membership – is limited to two adults that reside in the same household and enjoy all Club privileges including the right to two votes and to hold office.
  • Associate Individual Membership – is open to all persons 18 years of age and older and enjoys all of the privileges of the Club except the right to vote and to hold office and shall not count in the determination of a quorum.
  • Associate Family Membership – is open to all persons 18 years of age and older and enjoys all of the privileges of the Club except the right to vote and to hold office and shall not count in the determination of a quorum.
  • Junior Membership – is open to person 10-17 years of age and shall enjoy all the privileges of the Club except the right to vote and to hold office and shall not count in the determination of a quorum. Upon reaching the age of 18, a Junior member shall immediately apply for Regular or Associate membership.
