DESCRIPTION:  \nCancelled due to weather!\n  \nTraining usually begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes when all dogs have finished training for the day (usually mid to late morning). As the temperature rises during the summer training may begin earlier when it is cooler. \nHandlers meet in the parking lot and then separate into different groups. You may work on one or all areas.  That is up to you. \n  \nPlease send bird orders to Kirk by Thursday night prior to training day.  No order = no birds.\nWHAT TO BRING FOR YOUR DOG\nThe following list are items you will need during training: \n\nPlenty of water and a bowl.  In the summer months you will want enough water to cool your dog off after running.  Consider collecting gallon jugs or a 5 gallon water carrier used for camping.\nWater bottle with squirt cap to carry in the field for your dog.\nSlip lead or collar and lead.\nKennel /crate in vehicle or short tie out stake.\nOther training gear you may want to use such as bumpers\, tennis balls\, whistle\, etc. The club has some equipment available like retrieving bumpers and a zinger winger.\n\nWHAT TO BRING FOR YOURSELF\nBring items that will make your training session comfortable for you.  The list below is just a suggestion. We are several miles from modern conveniences.  The nearest Casey’s is in Bondurant or Mitchellville so plan accordingly. \n\nState of Iowa Hunting Licenses (Required by the state of Iowa because we are training dogs on public grounds.)\nBlaze orange hat and shirt or vest\nEye and Hearing protection – We use live ammunition.\nWater  for drinking and a quick clean up\nPaper towels\nSnacks\nCold gear and/or rain gear\nShade tent in the summer  (There are no trees to park under.)\nGood boots. Waterproof boots are recommended in wet conditions.\nSunscreen\, bug spray\, tick repellent\nFolding chair/ camp chair\nBird Crate\nGarbage bags to bring home birds and/or garbage\nCamera or video recorder if you want your run recorded.
